The details families want to understand
Clear information helps you make a more confident care decision. Here are answers to the questions families ask most often.
General questions
Planning care with Ample Home Care
Service scope, availability, coverage and professional responsibilities are discussed during the care assessment.
What are Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)?
ADLs are the everyday personal-care tasks that help someone remain comfortable and as independent as possible, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating and moving safely around the home.
What can an Ample Home Care caregiver help with?
Depending on the agreed care arrangement, a caregiver may assist with ADLs, meals, mobility, companionship, daily routines, observation and reporting. The exact responsibilities are discussed before care begins.
Do caregivers work with nurses or CNAs?
Yes. Ample Home Care works with accredited nurses and CNAs so caregivers have professional support and a route for reporting observations or concerns. The professional involved depends on the care arrangement.
How do we begin arranging care?
Start with the request-care form, phone or WhatsApp. We’ll ask a few practical questions, understand the person’s situation, and explain the next assessment steps.
How quickly can care start?
Start time depends on the person’s needs, location, assessment and suitable caregiver availability. Early contact gives the team the best chance to plan well.
Can I arrange care while living outside Kenya?
Yes. The initial conversation and much of the coordination can happen remotely through WhatsApp, phone or email. A local assessment of your loved one’s needs may still be required.
How are caregivers selected?
Caregiver suitability is considered against the person’s needs, the responsibilities in the care arrangement and practical fit. Ask the care team to explain the checks and preparation relevant to the caregiver proposed for your family.
Can the care plan change?
Yes. Care needs often change. The arrangement can be reviewed when the person’s health, mobility, routine or family circumstances change.
Can care be arranged temporarily?
Short-term support can be discussed for situations such as recovery after hospital or when a family caregiver needs temporary help. Timing and availability depend on the assessment and care required.
Do you provide emergency medical services?
No emergency service is represented on this website. If someone is in immediate danger, contact the appropriate emergency services or their treating medical provider.
